Daniel Guimont
Born in Kirkland Washington, Dan got his start in business when he was 10 years old collecting pop bottles and soda cans from neighborhoods and selling them back to local stores for the nickel deposit. At age 12, when most kids were out riding their bikes or playing Nintendo, Dan was out delivering newspapers for the Everett Herald, and won paper carrier of the year in 1989. In between his paper deliveries and going door to door selling newspaper subscriptions, he would sweep driveways to earn extra money.
Throughout high school he worked a myriad of jobs--dishwasher, grocery bagger, line cook, and car salesman. A born entrepreneur, Dan always knew he wanted to make his own way. When he was 22 years old, Dan founded DTG Enterprises and got to work. DTG specializes in construction and demolition recycling, and by providing a suite of site services Dan was able to differentiate his company from others in the waste space, leading to rapid growth and new opportunities. Expanding into recycling centers, trucking divisions, and later portable restroom services, DTG became a trusted vendor to jobsites in the Pacific Northwest. During Dan’s 25 years of running DTG, he successfully closed 27 acquisitions ranging from $1million to $100 million and generated over a billion dollars in total revenue. After a successful exit in late 2022, Dan took some time to concentrate on his family and think about what the next chapter would look like for him.
Guimont Capital was founded to fill the space in the private commercial lending space not serviced by existing institutional lenders and traditional banks. It is his hope that the growth and success of Guimont Capital and his investments will support the projects of local developers, builders, and small businesses, and help facilitate his other pursuits, such as Guimont Giving, the philanthropic arm of 8G Family Office that he runs alongside his wife Robyn.
